Guess Where You Can't Buy The Nurture Method?
Hey friends!
Amazon BANNED The Nurture Method! I am a proud author of a banned book. This is a sentence I never thought I’d utter.
BAHAHAHAHA!
This is not a joke. Two weeks ago I got an email from my publisher explaining that Amazon had banned The Nurture Method and TERMINATED my KDP account — the account you need to sell your book on Amazon and Audible.
WHY?
Amazon believes the book violated their “content guidelines.” It’s a freaking business book with stories of my life and businesses!!! WTF??????????????
After I stopped calling Amazon every dirty, filthy name I could think of and stopped hyperventilating, I put on my e-commerce hat. Amazon reviews book submissions through an AI bot. Something in my book triggered it. Full stop. The publisher appealed three times. Each time? Same automated email back.
After railing to Josh about it I decided to sleep on it.
Oddly enough I woke up feeling calm, at peace, and strangely excited. Amazon banned my book so I’m boycotting Amazon.
I have decided to use barnesandnoble.com as one of my sales platforms. I am also heavily leaning into independent bookstores and the websites that support them — bookshop.org and indiebound.org.
This decision, although unexpected, is definitely more in line with me. There is a reason we (RSG Sales) don’t work with Amazon. They are assholes and we have a strict no-assholes policy. Turns out that policy doesn’t just belong in business — it belongs in every corner of your life and mine.
